Canon’s New 1000D
By Arnold Zafra
Canon has announced its successor to the EOS 400D digital SLR, the EOS 1000D.
The EOS 1000D incorporates a Live View Mode and uses a compact SD memory card for image storage. This also allows users to easily interchange their memory card if they are used to using compact digital cameras and already have a range of memory cards.
It is also Canon’s lightest digital SLR ever, weighing only 450g. But it is a highly functional DSLR with fast continous shooting at 3.0 frames per second, basic and manual shooting modes.
The camera can be customised to your shooting preferences by means of the 12 Custom functions in the menus.
It also has an Auto Lighting Optimiser which automatically transforms dull or underexposed images in the camera.
Other features include a 10.1 Megapixel CMOS Sensor, DIGIC III Image Processor with 12-bit colour and the Canon EOS Integrated Cleaning System.
The Canon EOS 1000D will be available through Canon dealers nationally from late August.
