Samsung’s WB1000 has an AMOLED display and analog gauges

AMOLED displays have been showing up in more and more cell phones over the past few years and now Samsung has decided to put one on a digital camera. The Samsung WB1000 is a compact consumer camera that has a 3-inch AMOLED display on its rear for viewing pictures after you take them.
The 12.1-megapixel camera has Samsung’s Dual IS for image stabilization, has a 5x optical zoom, can record high-definition video at 720p, and a variety of manual options for people who want to take control over their picture taking. The camera also has HDMI-out for instantly watching high-definition videos you record on your television or other high-definition display, and has a “temporary folder” which saves pictures you may have deleted for a short period of time in case you have second thoughtsm, or just got a little trigger happy with that delete button.
The AMOLED screen makes the Sansung WB1000 an excellent choice for outdoor photogrpahy in bright situations. With the AMOLED display you should be able to see your displat screen no matter what angle you’re looking at it from or how bright the sun might be behind you. In addition to the AMOLED display one of the coolest features about this camera as far as I’m concerned is the analog gauges on its top. the gauges look similar to gas tanks on a car and let you know whether your memory card and battery are “full” or “empty.” I tend to be a sucker for unique features on my electronics, and those features are definitely unique.
The camera is currently on sale for around $450 US, which is pretty pricey for a compact digital camera, even if it does have a fancy AMOLED screen. What do you think about the Samsung WB1000? Would you consider purchasing one?

I would consider buying one. BTW Samsung’s earlier NV24 HD also featured an AMOLED screen.
